The Challenge
To construct 3000m2 of road pavement on a site that had large areas of uncontrolled fill that was not suitable for road construction. As well as protecting the root systems of existing trees during the construction of the road pavement.
The Solution
The project team, geotechnical engineers and the client worked collaboratively to provide a practical, sustainable and cost-effective solution to construct the road pavement without removing and disposing of the fill. A Ballast layer was used as both a bridging and drainage layer to form a strong foundation for the road pavement.
Scope of Works:
- Bulk earthworks
- Asphalt road pavement
- Concrete works including kerb laybacks, footpaths, and dish drains
- Stormwater infrastructure including pipelines, in-situ pits, and headwalls
- Landscaping works
“On behalf of Palmdale Memorial Park I would just like to thank Byrne Civil Group for the outstanding job they did in completing the civil works for our new development. The team were professional from quotation to completion.
They communicated progress throughout the duration of the job and had the knowledge and experience to resolve any on-site issues we had with the subgrade. Once the job was given the go ahead they were on site and at work. They worked in with Council, Geotechnical engineers and our design engineers so the job progressed and was completed on time.”
