Tyrrell Projects envisioned transforming the old ‘Tank Works’ site at Green Point, on the Central Coast, into an inspiring hub where local businesses can thrive and the community can come together, fostering connection and collaboration.

The Challenge

Not only is this site located adjacent to one of the Central Coast’s busiest roads which is home to a large school, but it’s also on a significant slope right above a creek that runs directly into Brisbane Water.

The Solution

Motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic awareness and management were a high priority along with sediment and erosion controls to protect the natural environment. Through our collaboration with the client, geo-technical engineers, and designers, we embraced the challenge of balancing earthworks and reusing all materials on site. Although we faced challenges due to the quality of the materials, we effectively addressed these issues through our team’s knowledge and experience.

Scope of Works:

Bulk Earthworks.
Detailed excavations.
Stormwater Drainage System.
Demolition + Clearing of the site.
A 2m x 130m Dincel retaining wall.
Over 4500m2 of Concrete pavement construction.
Timber piling and concrete pad footings.
Installation of concrete panels.
Suspended concrete Mezzanines with stairs.
Concrete works including footpath, kerb & gutter, laybacks & driveways.
Lime stabilisation of material.
Landscaping (re-spreading of topsoil & mulched areas).
Bio-retention basin.
On site sewer treatment system.
Electrical Lead in works from the other side of Avoca Drive.
